Earl, the polar bear, was tired of looking at
nothing but snow and ice. There was snow as far as
he could see.
“I’m tired of this snow, “Earl told his mother. “I’m
going to go where I can see something different.” “But you are a polar bear,” said his mother. It didn’t matter to Earl. He packed up his things
and left his mother out there in the blistering cold
snow.
A big whale named Johnny appeared out of the
ice cold water and said, “Hey there young one, lost
are you?” Earl said, “No, leaving.” Johnny
answered, “Well, you can ride on me for that
delicious sushi in your backpack.” Earl paused for a
couple of minutes. Earl had made his decision. “Fine,” he said gruntly. The whale moved against
the shore to pick up Earl for his trip. Right when Earl got on the whale, Johnny started talking again, “Where are you going?” “New York City,” Earl said happily. So they started on their long and
treacherous journey.
About two hours later they arrived in New York
City. Earl had already seen many people, and he
wasn’t even in the city yet! It was a beautiful
summer day in New York City.

The sun was shining bright and more people were in Central Park than anything! Earl got off of Johnny and said goodbye. He started walking down the streets. There was a big horse by a hot dog stand. The horse just stared at Earl. Then, the big brown horse’s owner dropped his hot dog and ran into a clothing store. The big brown horse said, “Hello, I’m Bob. Are you on the force?” Earl said quietly, “No.” Bob said very
angrily, “Then leave!” With that, Earl left in an
instant.
Earl headed toward a cafe. He thought he might get a bite to eat there since Johnny took all of his sushi. He went into Cafe Il Primo for a mocha decaf and a chocolate biscotti. When he walked in
everybody stared at him long and hard. He walked
up to the register. The lady looked half awake.
Earl said, “I’d like a mocha decaf and a chocolate
biscotti.” The lady said, “$7.22.” Earl yawned, but
to everybody else it sounded like a growl. Before
Earl knew it, the place was all his. Earl grabbed his
coffee and biscotti and sat down at a table to eat
and drink.
About five minutes into the wonderful coffee
he heard a light barking coming from the back
room. Earl put down his mocha and headed toward
the back room. He opened the door with the biggest
slam ever, BOOM! It opened perfectly. Inside there
was a medium sized cage with a little white poodle
in it. She kept barking until Earl opened the cage
door. The poodle jumped up and ate Earl’s
chocolate biscotti in an instant. “Sorry,” the hungry
poodle said. “I’m Fifi,” said Fifi munching. “Earl,”
he said softly.
Fifi pulled down a globe. “Are you from here?”
She had pointed to the Arctic. Earl responded,
“Yes.” Fifi said, “Why did you leave?” Earl said softly
“I was tired of the snow.” Fifi and Earl heard
footsteps. “Well that’s Andy, my owner. P.S., the
best place to shop for low prices is Macy’s.”
Earl left. He walked for a couple of blocks, then, in front of his big blue eye’s was a Macy’s store. He went inside. There were perfume bottles, ties and men’s shoes. He saw a woman smelling
perfume in a square shaped bottle. He looked
closer. He saw that she was wearing a Prada polar
bear fur coat. When he was only four, a man had
come and taken his father and shaved him clean.
His mother said that the man is going to use his
Father’s fur as a designer coat. So, Earl charged
the woman, pulled her coat off of her body and ran
out of Macy’s.
He saw a tall, green bush like thing. Other polar bears had told him about these. They said they were called, “Trees.” That means that Earl, the polar bear, must be in the one, the only, CENTRAL PARK!

The first thing Earl saw in Central Park were little monarch butterflies. They flew around Earl and said, “Hello, our names are, Lilly, Maddie, and Allie. The three of us want to show you around.”
The fist thing Earl saw that wasn’t flying around
his head was a church group playing music. They
told the audience that they were from Florida.
The next thing Earl saw was a little girl that was flying her orange and green kite. The girl looked at the polar bear for a very long time. When Earl started walking toward a baseball game, the little girl jumped up on Earl. She said, “Hi there Mr. Polar
Bear. I’m Julie. I’m a 10 year old foster child living
with my Aunt Gloria.” Earl started crying and said,
“My name is Earl.” They walked out of Central Park.
The next thing they saw was Radio City Music
Hall. Julie said, “Let’s go to a movie. My Aunt gave
me $30 to spend.” They walked in the theatre and
tickets to see Bolt, about a super hero dog. The show wasted about a good two hours. When they left the theatre, Julie’s Aunt came running out of a taxi cab saying, “I found you!” As if Julie had been kidnapped or dying. She grabbed Julie’s hand tightly. Julie started crying and said, “Wait, I want to take this polar bear with me!” Her Aunt said strictly, “No, let’s go!” Julie was pulled into the yellow taxi cab fast.
They drove away north. It was getting late. Earl decided to follow the taxi, but he couldn’t tell which

one she was in. He saw a big silver building with a doorman in a green suit. Luckily enough, a girl with brown hair and a tall, thin, strict woman walked in the building. Earl thought, “That must be them!”
He tiptoed inside quietly behind them. Earl heardthe woman say, “56.” He got into an elevator and pressed the number 56. Around 10:30 p.m., Earl snuck into Julie’s room. On her walls were pictures of her parents before they left her. He tapped on Julie’s shoulder and said, “Julie, are you awake?” Julie got on Earl’s back and said, “Giddy up!” They left her Aunt there all alone. They went into Central Park for the rest of their lives!
